Catalytic Convertor Marking Day

Wednesday 8th May 8.30am - 12.30pm

During recent weeks there has been a large increase in the number of cases of theft of catalytic convertors from a range of vehicles. The most vunerable vehicles are 4 x 4's and vans where higher ground clearance means the catalytic convertor can be removed or cut off in a matter of minutes.

In order to combat this Crockatt Garage, in conjunction with Suffolk Police are holding a  free of charge Catalytic Convertor Marking Day on 8th May at our workshop between 8.30 am and 12.30 pm. There is no need to book, just turn up on the day, all types of vehicle welcome.

To help reduce the chances of catalytic converters being stolen vehicle owners can also:

  • Keep private vehicles in a well-secured garage where possible, and if no garage is available, in a well-lit public area.
  • Park vehicles in such a way as to make access to the catalytic converter difficult, or parallel with another vehicle if you own one.
  • Keep commercial vehicles in a locked building or compound.
  • Use alarms, lighting and CCTV to deter thieves.
